SUMMARY:Petoskey Audubon October 8 Program – Birding in Ecuador
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin Petoskey Audubon on Tuesday, October 8, for an evening program about Birding in Ecuador.\nThe program begins at 7pm and it is free and open to the public. It takes place in the conference room at Northern Lights Recreation, 8865 Harbor Petoskey Rd. (M-119), Harbor Springs.\nPetoskey Audubon member, Jamie Jacob, will share his experiences birding in Ecuador in November of 2023 and January 2024. Ecuador is a relatively small country, the size of Colorado, and has 20% of the bird diversity of the world. Hear from Jacob what makes Ecuador such a special place not only for seeing new birds but also to experience the people’s pride of their country.\nBird tourism is a big part of the economy in the areas Jacob visited. Over the past 20 years many families have prospered by opening up their homes offering hummingbird feeders and snacks. In addition, many eco lodges have sprung up as well to accommodate the growing interest in birds and other animals.\n
