Bird Walks at Spring Lake Park
Join us at 8:00 am on Thursdays in May 2025 (except May 15) for walks at Spring Lake Park, located near the US-31 / M-119 intersection north of Petoskey. Meet at the gazebo and we’ll walk the flat trails, boardwalk, and paved trail along Mud Lake to Round Lake. Petoskey Audubon leaders will be Cynthia Donahey, Tracy Datlen and Sue Kurtz/
As always, all Field Trips are free, open to the public and lead by volunteers. Children are welcome under adult supervisions. Please dress appropriately for weather conditions and insects. Proper footwear is a must. Bring binoculars if you have them. If not, loaner pairs will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis. Unless a rain date is specified, bad weather will mean cancellation of the walk. That being said, we’re a hardy bunch. Lightning means a definite cancellation; but other than that, we stick with it as long as we can see through our binoculars. No pre-registration is required. Just show up. But be on time, once we leave the parking area, we may be hard to locate. Most walks take about 2 hours but participants are free to leave as their schedules (or stamina) allow. No smoking and no pets are allowed.
