Oden Fish Hatchery Bird Walk
Explore the trails at the Oden Fish Hatchery in search of migrating and nesting birds. PRAS member Tracy Datlen will be the walk leader. We will bird the evergreen and deciduous woodlands, as well as ponds, wetland habitats, and open areas near the hatchery buildings. Most trails are paved, flat and broad. In past years, we’ve averaged 40 species on this walk.
The walk begins at the parking lot and we cover a loop that takes about 2 hours. If you don’t have 2 hours, no problem! The trails are easy to navigate and you are free to turn around at any point in the walk.
Good news! All of the renovations to the parking lot and visitors center are complete. (Last year the group was bedeviled by reconstruction in the parking area and visitors center.) Oden Fish Hatchery, 3377 Oden Road, (US 31 North entrance opposite Crooked Lake)
Reminder: No pets allowed on this walk. Children welcome with responsible adult.
