Oden Fish Hatchery Bird Walk

PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR JUNE 25, 2026. Oden Fish Hatchery with Petoskey Audubon members Art Schoolmaster and Cynthia Donahey. Meet at 3377 U.S. 31 at Visitor Center and old train car. No RSVP required, just show up.
Explore the trails at the Oden Fish Hatchery in search of birds. We will bird the evergreen and deciduous woodlands, as well as ponds, wetland habitats, and open areas near the hatchery buildings. Most trails are paved, flat and broad. Usually, we seem to ID about 40 species at this location. At this time of year, Showy Lady’s Slippers are also a possibility.
The walk begins at the parking lot and we cover a loop that takes about 2 hours. If you don’t have 2 hours, no problem! The trails are easy to navigate and you are free to turn around at any point in the walk.
