Birding Walk at Sportsman’s Park East Jordan

East Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Jordan River Watershed and Petoskey Regional Audubon Society invite you to a birding walk at Sportsman’s Park in East Jordan, September 27, 8am-10am.

During this walk we will explore multiple habitat types.Participants will meet at the Sportsman’s Park parking area. Please bring your binoculars. Depending on the number of participants, we will split into groups to experience three specific areas. Birding guides will be available for each group to identify bird species by sight or vocalization and to answer questions. This walk should allow participants to see many of Michigan’s resident and migratory bird species!

RSVP is not necessary to attend the bird walk, but is appreciated. If you have questions or wish to RSVP contact the East Jordan Chamber of Commerce at info@ejchamber.org or 231-536-7351. Rain date is Sunday, September 28. Restrooms are available at the parking area. A limited supply of loaner binoculars will be available. Please do not bring pets as these can disrupt both the behavior of the birds and the birding experience for others.

Additional activities will be happening later that day on the boardwalk:
• Quilt the Boardwalk: Noon-4PM, Friends of the Jordan River Watershed Building/Don and Eileen Klein Nature Trail
• Book Signing on the Boardwalk: 1PM-3PM, Don and Eileen Klein Nature Trail
