Petoskey Audubon May 14 Program – “Michigan 337 – The Biggest Year in Michigan Birding History”

Join Petoskey Audubon on Tuesday, May 14, for an evening program about one man’s 2022 quest to see more birds in a single year than anyone in Michigan history.

Avid Birding Enthusiast Danny Bernard will share his story of battling a limited budget and the time constraint of a full-time job on his initially unplanned journey to break the Michigan Big Year record.

Bernard met dozens of people and learned loads about birding, himself, and life in general as he traveled over 45,000 miles and spent nearly every waking minute of 2022 on his quest to see more birds in a single year than anyone in Michigan history. Hear his story and see some amazing pictures of his year-long journey.

The program begins at 7pm and it is free and open to the public. It takes place in the conference room at Northern Lights Recreation, 8865 Harbor Petoskey Rd. (M-119), Harbor Springs.

Petoskey Regional Audubon Society is a chapter of Michigan Audubon and is a group for people interested in birds and the outdoors of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. PRAS is dedicated to creating a greater awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the inter-relatedness of all Michigan’s wild places and wildlife and the need for stewardship, with emphasis on our local region.
