Another lovely day, with enough wind to keep the bugs away!
9 birders joined in the spring hunt for flying jewels and the birds did not disappoint. Good looks at Yellow Warbler, Baltimore Oriole (and nest), Redstart (male and female), Warbling Vireo, Hooded Merganser trailing 10 chicks. The summer is upon us and people had other things to do, so the leaders (Cynthia, Art and Sue) were left to go see the Loon, Sandhill Cranes, TV, Green Heron and Hairy Woodpeckers feeding their peeping young in a tree hole.
Big thanks to Sue for doing the e-bird tally. View this checklist online at https://ebird.org/checklist/S176548555
One more week of this walk next Thursday at 8:00 a.m. Spring Lake Park.
